mADCap literary magazine was inspired by two literary characters: the Hatter in Lewis Carroll’s novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Pilosopong Tasio in Noli me tangere, one of the novels of Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines.
While these inspirational figures are in many respects enigmatic, this magazine’s intention is NOT to promote poetic obscurity and extreme abstraction. Rather, we wish to bring to light the works of Filipino poets who write in English. We seek poems that ask questions, express the self, engage in linguistic play, contain vivid imagery, and mirror concrete experiences.
